Sunday at Home!

The rain has stop and our pond is full. It really feels like fall now here at the back 40. I also manage to get some wash done and have the last load in the dryer.

With all the rain yesterday, I did not leave the house. In my pj's all day long and manage a shower sometime in the afternoon.

Here is what I was working on yesterday up in my office.

Beginner's QAL Border added
Added a border to the beginner's quilt. Have not decided to added another border.

Sew Sweet 12" x 12"

My table stand is full with a leaf pattern from Julie Comstock over at Cosmo Cricket. She particpated in the Moda Designers Blog Hop. I just love the pattern and applique the leafs. A simple pattern for someone who does not applique that much. If you are interested in the pattern, visit Julie for her pattern or Moda, The Cutting Table with a list of all the designers.

A view of what I am working on. Does the pattern looks familiar.

I had a notion to make a lap quilt. Halloween is my favorite time of the year.

Great Granny pattern from Bee In My Bonnet.

I have not finished my other quilt, but I thought I would do both at the same time. See how that goes.

I also have other projects I am working on that I will preview in November.

Stay tune.

Have a wonderful week,

Still out!

Well, still out! My WDH had a call from a customer. So my weekender bag turned into a suitcase. Just stopped by the house and picked up a change of clothes for a few more days. We will be headng home tomorrow.

I did manage to work on some projects that I had with me.

I also stopped by a few quilt shops.

First one was the Quilter's Emporium, Stafford Texas. Found some fat quarters for a project that I am working on for a November hop.

I also got to stop by my favorite shop in LaPort Texas, Painted Pony n' Quilts. They had some print material that I have been looking for. Also for a future project. Then, while in Webster, I stopped by Fabric Etcetera and found some great fabrics.
WOW!
 I had to stop myself.

It will be terrible, we are going to be up in Houston for awhile and I have to practice NO, NO, NO. Hard to believe, since the big show will be here in about a month.

Show dates Nov 1-4, 2012

Yes, I did say the big show!

How one can get into so much trouble. Maybe some classes.

Thanks for stopping by, and I promise to post some photos. I did bring my camera, but my charger did not come in my camera bag.

Excuses, Excuses....

Thanks for stopping by,

Fly over in Houston

Little did I know the Endeavour was making a stop over at Ellington Field over nite, on it's way to California today. If I had know, I would have brought along my camera. WDH and I are out of town this week and I had too many bags to bring. It did not make it's way to the car. But, also this morning my iPhone was dead and it took it's time to charge up. You think I had all this played out before hand, but I heard the news announcing it this morning, just when the Space Shuttle Endeavour flew out of Florida this morning. 6:22 am our time here.

I apologize for my photos.
It was a sight to see the Endeavour.

Panera!

I am sitting here at Panera having a Pumkin Spice latte! YUM...we do not have a Panera in Victoria, but a hardback cafe does make a mean latte if you are in need of one.

What a wonderful weekend I had. I went to the Austin Area Guild Quilt Show this past weekend. I did not get to see all the goodies, but I had a wonderful time. I did get to see Jennifer's quilt (Sewhook) up close  (the project of Doom). Beautiful piece of work. Congrats Jennifer.

I also had the pleasure of sitting in on some demostrations and I picked up a tip or two. Wonderful presentations given by the guild. Now all I have to do is apply what I have picked up to my mystery quilt.  I look forward to the next show in 2 years. Thank you AAQG!

Mystery Quilt

Why I am posting today, I finally have my mystery quilt all together. I changed one of the blocks completely for a different fabric. I manage to get two of the rows off, but it will not matter, I will fix it when I add a border before I sandwich. The quilt size I believe is 59"x 59".  It may get bigger . ???? If you have been following along the Beginner's Quilt Along over at Quilting Gallery, Mishka Ottawa and Pat Sloan have put together a mystery block quilt along for those like me that are new to quilting. We are in our final week and I cannot express how much this has helped me along the way. Also, I do not remember where I found the fabrics for this project, but I did not know what I was getting into either since it was a mystery quilt. I am happy that I picked up a tip or two at the AAQS and will try to apply them to the quilt. I look forward to the next quilt along. Make sure to check out all the photos in the Flickr gallery.

I am out of town this week and did bring some goodies to work on while away from my office. But, before I left, I also put together a mini for my table stand. I have not quilted the top yet, but my table stand is in need of a new mini.

Sew Sweet Sampler 12"x12"

Moda was having a Moda Designers Blog Hop and I found the pattern that Julie Comstock  at Cosmo Cricket from Austin, Texas had a sweet simple block for the hop and I am using it for my table stand. Click here to download the pattern or head over to Julie's blog. For more information, click here for a complete line up of all the designers block over at Moda. It ended last week but you can still visit all the designers and see the patterns.

Well, that is all and I am ready for some exploring today.

I did not bring my camera, but that never stops me with my iPhone to take some photos.

It looks like some wonderful weather today and I love it when the season is changing. Just not my allergies!

Have a wonderful day and see ya soon....

Another UFO

WOW! I cannot believe how exciting it is that September is here. It has been a hot summer here in South Texas and I look forward to some cooler weather.

Enough, I fianlly can mark off another UFO from the list.

Do you remember this project?

Blessing Basket Doll Quilt 17" x 17"
Temecula Quilt Company is celebrating Five Years in the business this year. To help them celebrate, they hosted another Quilt-Along with this beautiful pattern Blessing Baskets earlier this year.

12 Days of Christmas Doll Quilt 16" x 20"
It was not until after the holidays when I started to sew this beauty and wanted something for Valentine. So, I used all the scraps from my grand-daughters doll quilts I made for Christmas last year. See photos below.

I made one without handles, since two are going to the same house.
Sorry about the photos. With the holidays closing in fast I could not remember if I took all the photos.

Now what am I going to make for this year's holiday gifts?  I am thinking slippers and maybe jammies for the grand-daughters and pj's for the grand-sons. HUMMMMMMM!!!!

Okay, I know it is past lunch time and I do need to get going. I still have not check my emails today.

Where is the time?

Thanks for stopping by,

Catching Up!

This afternoon, I finally sewed my last three blocks for the Beginner's Quilt-Along over at Quilting Gallery. I made 13-12" block for my quilt. You have the option of making 12 or 13.

Here are my last three blocks:

Block 11 Read Books all Summer

Block 12 Ride Bikes All Day

Block 13 Collect Seashells

There is an extra week to complete and catch up.

Week 23 of Zaaka Style Sew Along

I also completed my Zaaka Happy Garland Message Board from the Zaaka Style Sew Along. Check out Maueen Cracknell Handmade Blog

Zaaka Happy Garland Message Board Week 23
My office is almost done and rearraning is not so sweet. Too many distractions. I have not put up my beauties and another week has gone by so soon. Yesterday was a Guild meeting and that tells me that another month is flying by quickly.  I like my yellow message on my Happy Garland Message Board. Gone Fishing with my Sweetie! If only that was so true.

I have so many projects going on and soon Christmas will be here. I am trying to get out all my holiday gifts done early this year. Just not enough hours in the day.

Blog Hops

Next week will be Dots on Dots Blog Hop starting next week. Click here for the line-up.

Right now there is a Sew Hats Blog Tour over at Modkid Boutique The blog of Patty Young.

Grandmothers Choice Blog is hosting a block of the week for the next 49 weeks. Here is a link to Block 1. While the blog itself has all the information for the block, you can also print out the pattern in Block Base as well.

Quiltmaker's 100 Block is hosting QM Rocks the Blocks Blog Hop.  New issue hit the shops and newstands on Tuesday.  You will recognize some fellow bloggers. Also, lots of chances to win a copy of the issue.

Another late nite and I am ready for some ZZZZZ's.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon.

Labor Day

Today is Labor Day here in the states. I can tell you on a day like today with the sun out I can use a trip down to Corpus Christi, Texas. Perfect for a lazy summer day!

But I can tell you here at home, not so lazy. I am trying to finish off some projects and also get the rest of my office cleaned. The electricity was out yesterday around 11:30 pm and I tell you it gets really dark out here in the middle of no-where. Except for the moon out bright, I thought the fuse went out and I was not about to got outside and find out. I looked out the windows from my office and for sure the electricity was out everywhere.  It is back on!

So, some catching up today if possible.  Enough of me, I did forget to add to the Blog Hop list yesterday that All People Quilt is having a Blog Hop. It started on Saturday. APQ and One Million Pillowcase Challenge are pairing up to reach their One Million Pillowcase goal. Check out the great line-up all month long and free patterns.

September is here and so is Football

1st of September and I cannot wait for some cooler weather. My favorite time of the year.

This weekend we are going to take it easy. I say that, but I still have to clean the house, laundry to do and the list goes on. I meant to say, take it easy from doing any sewing up in my office.

I also have been tooling about moving my design board across the room.

Design Board

Over to this wall and move the shelves,

To the right side of this photo.

Then move both shelves where the design board is up now and move the bookcase that is behind the TV between the two shelves.

That way I will have some room to hang my beauties.

As for my desk,

I will leave it where it is for now.

My sewing table,

Not sure where to put it. It used to be in the middle of the room, but I did not like the table I had it on. I do like the light by the window.

From this door, I can take better photos across the room where my design board will be moved too.
I also just saw that I need more totes for storage.  Did I say take it easy??????
