What's on my List today!

This morning I am making out my list to shop for.  We do not have a Joann's anymore in town. So when I am in the big city (H-Town), I make sure I hit all the places before I head home.  Plus, it is so much fun to find goodies that I can play with.
List
  1. Joann's - Roll Stamp Need to be returned!
  2. Sam's - Photoshop Element 10 ( I am still using an older version) for my weekend class.
  3.  ??? - Ink (for stamping) Michaels
  4. Hunt for a new art store. The one in town is no longer there also.  All the great places are closed up.
  5. I forgot my grandson's birthday (Shame on me!). I shoud know this. I am G-Ma. Gift for a 3-yr old.
  6. Pickup emblishments for my ATC's (I also discovered ATC Editions).
  7. Find rings for my Index Cards or holder of some sort.  I start the ICAD tomorrow and need something to hold them in. You can find out here what Tammy's hosting over at her blog for the Index Card A Day Challenge.
This list should keep me out of trouble for awhile. Houston is a big city and I am heading home tomorrow.

The other day when I took the kiddos to the bus stop, we saw this flower and I did not have my camera except for my iPhone and as you can see is not a very good photo.

I just love how the color shows up against the lighter flowers.

The kiddos also pointed out that this bug was looking at me while I was photographing the flower above.

Looks like some rain today, so thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Kids @ the Bus Stop

This week, I am visiting my kiddos and helping my daughter.
Grandchildren at the bus stop.
From the photo below, it was very early in the morning when they catch the bus.
Sun is peaking thru the clouds.
Early morning at the bus stop
This is week 6 of 52 Photos Project  and here is my version of  (Light in the Dark). Check out Bella's blog for this weeks theme. This keeps my photography going even if it's from my iPhone.

Today is  WOYWW. Julia is having a ATC swap for the 3rd Anniversary of  "What's on your Workdesk, Wednesday 156". So hop on over there and see what all the linking is about.

As you can see I am away from my office.  So I bring it with me.
Traveling Workdesk
In the blue bag, I have my stamps, stencils, color pencils, pens and journals.  In the yellow bag, CPS magazine, a post card book, and materials for sewing. I did not get to finish up my ATC that I was working on. So I  hope to find time to breath and finish. The black bag with more supplies.

Yesterday, I was driving in the big city (H-Town), and I passed by a Container Store. Hope to visit later this week. I am in need of a traveling tote to roll my desk with me on my trips.

I  joined the Index-Card-A-Day Challenge over at Tammy's blog DaisyYellow.SquareSpace. I wanted to challenge my artistic ability to create on paper. From June to the end of July I am going to try to creat on a 3x5 index card. I may not make all the days, but I am going to give it a try to improve my art.  See at the end of summer.

I am hoping to make it home before this weekend. I have a Photoshop Element class this Saturday and I am missing my Guild meeting this morning.

Hope everyone have a safe and wonderful day!

Day 28 May Flower Challenge & Shared Messages from the Universe

Today is Memorial Day and I wanted to Thank all who served our nation for our freedom.  Freedom today is such a gift and many take for granted.  Thank you to all our Nations Military.

**************************

This is Day 28 May Flower Challenge Lori is hosting over @ Lori Moon Studio and shared Messages from the Universe.

I wanted to share a favorite poem from EE Cummins.

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
i carry your heart with me by E. E. Cummings

Have a safe Memorial Day !

Crazy Week!

At the moment, the apartment is quiet. All the kids are at the pool. I am at my daughters helping her out with the kids.  She has a few days left for work and then off for the summer.  She does not have to be back till the 27th of August when school starts.

But before the crazy week, I had finished making my last ATC before I mailed it out. Here are photos of what I mailed out to my swap partner.

My very first Swap ever. Hope they like them.
Later, I hope to show how I put them together. Right now I am doing some catching up and had not had a chance to breath.

Have a wonderful Sunday,

Happy Camper!

Today is Friday and I for one am a happy camper.  I started out yesterday, getting ready to head home and 30 minutes before I picked up my DH, I received a text from my daughter. She needed my help, so when my DH was ready to head home,  we drove three hours to the house and less than 30 minutes I was back on the road heading back to Houston from Victoria.  My grandson was suspended from school. First Grader....BOYS!

I came to help out my daughter. She is a single mother of four and well, they rest is another story.  So today I spent the day with my grandson. He has no privilages so he and I headed out for my morning latte and then stopped at the Hen House in Spring, Texas. I picked up some goodies to make some ATC's. While the other kiddos are still in the school,  I am going to take this time to brush up on my journaling and sketch book as well. The grand kids love to color with me and I do have my art supplies with me on the trip. I am hoping to pick up a few more items while up in the big city. Some stamps, stencils and etc.  Oh, by the way a container store close by.

Not sure when I will be back to blogging, but I did bring my air card, which by the way is not working.  So I borrow one.
Here is a picture I did today with the help of my grandson.

I had some 4x5 index cards in my stash and I am happy with the end results.

I used some stamps. Colored in with gel pens. My grandson said add some water and the tackle box needed some worms. He is the artist here.

I am not sure when I will be heading back home to the back-40 but, before then I am going to enjoy my kiddos.

Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Weekend and if you see a Warrior somewhere in our magnificent world, take time to thank them for all they do.

WOYWW # 155

This is what my other work desk looked like before my DH and I headed off to the big city.

I travel with my DH on his business trips. While he is at work, my day is planned out to catching up on emails this morning. Have lunch with my beautiful daughter today. My DH picked yellow squash and calabeza from the garden, so the kiddos will have a treat.

Later shop for a last minute gift for my beautiful grand-daughter. She turns 5 tomorrow and has survived a sick heart from day 1. I thank my luck stars.  Later, off to the post office to mail my ATC's to my swap partner. I found my ATC's from Wanda Riggs Monday morning.

Then head off to run errands before I pick up my DH. Check out the rest of the WOYWW at Stamping Ground with Julia Dunnit to see what's going her blog.

This will be my very first swap and I am working on four ATC for my partner.
She also sent me a post card done in paper piecing.  I just picked up paper piecing this year. I hope to have my quilt top finished soon.  Now I need to get busy with my ATC's.

Coupon Clutch

Yesterday evening, I found some time to sew/quilt a Coupon Clutch.  I found the pattern on Moda Bakeshop. The pattern was simple to follow.  Here is my version:

I used two fat quarters.
Instead of Pellon decor bond interfacing, I used fusible fleece, since that is all I had.
I also used a large snap instead of the magnetic fasteners
Added a big pink button on the flap.

I did not block off the bottom, since I had plenty of room for coupons, pen and a note pad.
I cut out the index tabs that was included with the instructions..

This clutch makes a great gift for mothers day.

Today I am showing a page from my sketchbook.  I was in Galveston last week with my DH and I stayed on the island while he was at his meeting that morning.  I decided to go out that morning.  I dressed and got all doll up.  No rush.  Well, when I got back from venturing out on the sea wall,

This is what I looked like when I got back to our room!

Yes, to my surprise. I worked on my hair all morning.

Now I know why he had to shake his head and do a double take...

He is handsome of course!

That is all for now. I have not even started on my morning and it is almost lunch time soon.

But, I do hope you have a wonderful day...Judith, Texas
